Volunteer Community Volunteers are Needed! We are always looking for adoptive parent volunteers to help coordinate the camp workshops and activities prior to camp. We also rely on cultural community volunteers who can teach adults and/or children about their culture, provide food and cooking expertise, teach songs or games from their culture to the kids, provide authentic entertainment, etc. As for the most important part of camp - the counselors - we look for young people in high school or college who can be role models for the children! If you are interested in assisting, please contact Pam Sweetser at info@heritagecamps.org.
Donate Funds!CHC, Inc. is a non-profit 501 C(3) organization that runs on a shoestring budget. If you, or anyone you know (relatives, friends, companies, etc.), would like to financially sponsor a facilitator, a counselor, or a family scholarship, a tax deductible contribution would be greatly appreciated.
The Colorado Heritage Camps, Inc. Financial PictureIt is hard to believe that just 9 years ago, when Colorado Heritage Camps incorporated and became a non-profit 501-C (3) organization, we ended the year with a tidy little deficit. Yikes! What had we done? It was actually more about what we hadn’t done, which was actively seek additional funding from sources other than participant’s camp program fees. We learned that first year, that the program fees we charge per person to attend camp, just don’t cover the organization’s costs. Since then, we have gotten smarter, and more aggressive in seeking financial help—largely from our participant families, and you have come through for us! We thank each and every one of you who make a donation, no matter whether it is $10 or $10,000—it all adds up to a positive outcome that allows us to continue providing 9 heritage camps each year. We have also been fortunate each year to receive the financial support of some corporations, small businesses, and even a few foundations. We are also grateful to have benefitted the past three years from “Somewhere in the World Foundation’s” annual fundraiser, which is always a big success. Thank you to those of you who attend this wonderful event each year. To secure the future of each and every heritage camp in our organization, including the NEW Cambodian Heritage Camp this year, we must raise an estimated $50,000 above and beyond camp program fees paid by each participating family. So, again, we must rely on the help of many individuals who donate personally to camp, or are able to secure funding from corporations, foundations, etc. We have an active grant writing team, and an active fundraising team, so if you can help in any of those areas, please contact Pam Sweetser, Executive Director. contact us It is also obvious, in the final analysis, that the camps with more participants fare better financially, with much stronger reserves to begin the next year. So, not only can you help your camp by making a financial contribution now, you can also help by spreading the word! Please consider contributing in one or more of the following ways: * Give a personal, tax deductible donation to Colorado Heritage Camps, Inc.
Thank you very much!! We couldn't do it without you!
