Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families — Making a Difference Today and Tomorrow
Although families pay to attend our camps, their fees do not cover all costs. We must raise an additional $200,000 annually. Please help secure the future of all ten heritage camps. All Gifts to HCAF are tax deductible, as we are a 501©(3) non-profit organization.

So what does your money support…
If you are considering a donation to help the children, here are a few things that explain where your money may go *
- $100 sponsors a camp counselor, the heart and soul of every camp. This includes an initial background check, food, lodging, t-shirts, and all supplies.
- $200 sponsors a camp presenter who teaches the children and/or parents about their culture, raising adopted children, and sometimes about life in general! This includes food, lodging, t-shirts, materials, and sometimes transportation.
- $400 sponsors a camp scholarship for a family of four, when economic hardships make participation difficult.
- $800 sponsors a special guest speaker and/or cultural entertainer, covering necessary travel expenses, lodging, and sometimes speaker’s fees.
- $1,600 sponsors camp programming – ethnic lunches, the cultural ‘village,’ children’s and teen workshops, parent workshops, materials and supplies, truck rentals, and much more!
- $5,000 sponsors our tent — our new “circus tent” at Snow Mountain Ranch was a BIG hit this year, and will continue to be a great space for us to use at the camps held up there. Every year the maintenance and storage adds up, so $5,000 will give you or your company naming rights, and a LOT of visibility all summer long!

More ways you may be able to help…
Ask Your Relatives and Close Friends!
How many people in your life know you attend heritage camp every summer? How many know how important it is to your child and family? How many of you have brought grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends to camp with you? How many just know you and love your child? Remind them of the “gift that keeps on giving” – a donation to heritage camp!
Search, Shop and Give!
GoodSearch is a search engine which donates 50-percent of its revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. It’s a simple and compelling concept. You use GoodSearch exactly as you would any other search engine. Because it’s powered by Yahoo!, you get proven search results. The money GoodSearch donates to your cause comes from its advertisers — the users and the organizations do not spend a dime!
In 2007, GoodSearch was expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall of world-class merchants dedicated to helping fund worthy causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to the user’s designated charity or school – averaging approximately 3% of the sale, but going up to 20% or even more.
To help HCAF, simply go to www.goodsearch.com, and fill in Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families where it says “who do you goodsearch for?” It is as simple as that, and very helpful! Same with their online shopping – now’s the time of year to do it!!
Buy a Kroger Card!
These Kroger grocery cards are good at stores around the country. Buy a preloaded card for $5 and help Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families receive 5% of every purchase made with your card! Just click here and start shopping!
Come to our More Than You and Me Gala!
Each year we have our annual gala fundraiser, always in the spring. There will be information on our web site about the gala after the first of the year, as well as invitations via the web and in the mail! Please do join us for a fun-filled evening of dinner, dancing, cocktails, a silent auction, and live entertainment! It really is a great andunique party (not stuffy at all!), and for a great cause. A portion of the proceeds went to support our “More Than Me” program each year.
Get More Bang for Your Buck! Corporate Matching Gifts
Are you seeking to maximize the impact of your cash giving? A Matching Gifts program will double eligible contributions for qualified nonprofit organizations like Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families. When you make donations, qualified nonprofit organizations will receive a cash match. Most corporations have partial or full matching gift programs to support their employees’ cash donations to the organizations the employee chooses to support, either financially, or through volunteer hours. This is a powerful and EASY way to make your donation go so much further. Does your company match your donations? These programs are very easy to participate in, usually a single web page or form. Volunteer Your Time and Skills
Contribute to the creation of our endowment fund:
An endowment fund will sustain Heritage Camps for Adoptive Families and secure our long-term future. HCAF has been operating heritage camps for 20 years, and it has stayed financially solvent. However, each year, costs are going up to run the camps, and there is constant concern about finding the additional funding needed to keep camps affordable for families. An endowment will ensure that HCAF will be able to serve families and children for many years to come and will provide a sense of security for the organization to continue providing heritage camps for adoptive families.
